It’s one of the most iconic and elegant landmarks of Sin City, and for the first time in its 25-year history, the iconic Fountains of Bellagio has a new show – it’s 40th – and one that’s been choreographed by a guest!
Inspired by the villages of Europe, the Bellagio, which is operated by MGM Resorts International, overlooks a Mediterranean-blue, 8 ½-acre lake where guests flock daily at scheduled showtimes to gaze on the sight of fountains performing a magnificent aquatic ballet. It’s one of the can’t-miss experiences on the Las Vegas Strip, and now, a guest has made history by designing the Fountains’ latest show.
Scott Krupa, from Atlanta, Georgia, was given the memory of a lifetime through his hotel loyalty membership. The “Marriott Bonvoy Moments inspired by MGM Collection” program gives members opportunities to use their points to bid on one-of-a-kind experiences in their favorite destinations – and in this case, Krupa won the auction offering a chance to be part of the Fountains’ 40th show milestone and Bellagio history.
Krupa is passionate about music, lighting and the arts – and obviously a dedicated traveler! He redeemed 2.4 million Marriott Bonvoy points for this experience.
But it was no walk in the park -er, on the Strip. Krupa began by learning the sophisticated technology and intricate process of the stunning water performance. Armed with newfound knowledge and inspiration, Krupa then stepped into the role of maestro and worked closely with a dedicated creative team to select the music, guide the artistry of the aquatic choreography, and turn his creative vision into reality.
Krupa’s choreography for the Fountains’ show is set to U2’s anthem “Beautiful Day.”
"Being able to express my creativity through the Fountains is something I will cherish forever. I carefully considered not only the visual impact of the show but the emotions it would evoke in the huge crowds that constantly gather to watch," he said.
As the culmination of this journey, Krupa celebrated the show premiere along with his friends and family at Bellagio's The Mayfair Supper Club. His masterpiece will now join the Fountains' rotation of 40 breathtaking performances, delighting millions of visitors to Las Vegas from around the world.
The Fountains of Bellagio captivate passers-by daily with complimentary, awe-inspiring productions. Plan ahead for your next stroll down the Strip. Here’s the Fountains’ schedule:
Every 30 minutes: Monday – Friday, 3 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Saturday and holidays, noon – 8 p.m.
Sunday, 3 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Every 15 minutes: Daily, 8 p.m. – midnight
Sunday, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Not only does the new, guest-designed Fountains show make it a “Beautiful Day” at the Bellagio.
The casino resort also has a place of pride when the fall, 2024 Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix brings nearly 4 miles of speed and thrills to the Fountains. The resort and loyalty program will launch several ultimate moments centered on the Bellagio Fountain Club. Perched above the Las Vegas Strip Circuit, the exclusive Club offers a unique setting over the Bellagio Lake with views of the main straight.
Those two exciting developments in fall, 2024 make now the time to visit or re-visit Las Vegas and discover what else is new.
At the Bellagio, its award-winning dining now includes its newest addition The Mayfair Supper Club, on top of its world-class art gallery, the exquisite Conservatory & Botanical Gardens, the stunning performance of "O" by Cirque du Soleil, a sumptuous spa and salon and exclusive luxury shopping experience.
